STYLING A LOFT - THE INNOVATIVE WAY

A Loft is a space uniquely special to many people. For many people, the prospect of living in a loft conjures up images of industrial sites and warehouses, converted into cold and clinical living spaces. However, loft living can actually be a very appealing option. A loft apartment has intrinsic characteristics such as high ceilings, exposed beams, often exposed brick (love that!) and often a single large space or flow for all rooms. Sometimes it does have bedrooms separate from the rest of the space.

The benefits of a loft

To get styling your loft lets understand what are the key strengths one can play on in terms of design. They tend to have high ceilings, which can make a space feel larger and more open. They also often have large windows, which let in plenty of natural light. In addition, loft apartments tend to be located in desirable areas, such as downtown districts with easy access to shops, restaurants, and nightlife. For many looking for a unique and stylish place to call home, a loft is the perfect option.

But finding the right loft design ideas can be tricky. That's why we've put together this list of some of our favorite loft design ideas. So whether you're just starting to plan your loft or you're looking for new ideas, we hope you'll find something here that inspires you!

Break it Up!

When it comes to decorating a loft, there are endless possibilities. First one needs to plan a layout which works for your lifestyle. Divide and conquer is the way to layout a loft. This is the time to innovate. Create a space for your office or study area, innovate on it with some of our office styling tips.

One can also use the extra space for storage, such as by installing built-in shelves or cabinets. Create a cozy reading nook or an intimate conversation area. For those who entertain frequently, a loft can have a chic cocktail lounge or a stylish dance floor. If you have a totallyb open loft but want a bedroom which is semi private get some flowing curtains or a neat separator. No matter what your needs are a loft is so much more creative in having a space for all your needs. And the style and look that comes together after that is what makes a loft unique!

Decide your style

Now think about the architectural style of your space and how you would like it to feel. Its all about you and the home. While many say go contemporary with lofts there might be cases where the warmth of a style is preferred by you or you want to go eclectic. Have fun with what you want to do because it is indeed all about that. When we stage homes, especially in downtown lofts we go creative with a style which highlights many features, exposed pipes, bricks and the amazing layout, sometimes even the flooring.

Here are some lofts we staged, for a mix of lucky owners or for staging them at their best.

In this very eclectic charming loft the very bright colors were matched with equally vibrant accessories, books and a lot of interesting pieces to make them shine.

A feel of warmth, charm and feeling special was created with special contemporary pieces that complemented the charm of this space.

When we say divide and conquer one of the parts of this seamless and endless space was this living room. Oriented towards the streets of downtown it made its owners feel a part of the fast moving energy downtown yet enjoy their quite and space. Armed with many interesting pieces it was easy to make this a space to hang out and entertain.

The exposed cement wall which can be majestic and neat but sometimes cold can be made interesting by bringing in artwork that goes with the decor and look you are planning.

Defining a study or an office area is such a cool feature one can easily create in most lofts.

Add a lounge area for added reading or comfort. Make it fun.

This elegant chandelier inspired the contemporary elegance of the bedroom in this loft. Rather than putting a piece of art in the center we played around to offset a metal piece on the side for interest and uniqueness. Mixing art pieces - canvas, frames and metallics is a great way to bring interest and depth to a space especially as one splits it into different areas.

The good thing is that one can play around with layouts, in this loft placing the dining to get a view of downtown and the sky was a fitting idea for the owner.

As one sprawled from a living to the dining in this smaller loft space we created a semi transparent barrier to keep the bedroom a little separate. A cozy home office was also tucked in a corner near the bedroom area.
